The HEALDS is a non-profit, non political non-governmental organization committed to work for Women and Children in Tamil Nadu. The HEALDS established in 1996, presently works in Mohanur, Namakkal district and has a branch office at Coimbatore. HEALDS also works through its village level youth resource centres to achieve its objectives.

The HEALDS community network begins in 1996 as a formal group that met to discuss common concerns. Since 1998, HEALDS has become more organized and active. More than 320 dedicated volunteers have offered their time and talents to making HEALDS success.

We promote understanding the challenges facing poor people in rural sector and we are finding the solution.HEALDS members work in almost every village panchayats in Namakkal and Mohanur block of Namakkal district on a wide range issues.HEALDS was made up of more than 1180 community based groups including women SHGs, Farmer’s Club, Joint Liability Groups and Youth Resource Centers involving thousands of young people, Farmers, women and children in the 5 blocks of Namakkal district.
